S. A. Jamali & Co., established in 1948 by Mr. Shaukat Ali Jamali, is one of Hyderabad’s oldest and most respected law firms. With a legacy in constitutional and civil law, the firm was revitalized in 2013 by Mr. Muhammad Najeeb Jamali and now operates under a three-partner leadership, advising local and international clients in litigation, corporate, and advisory matters.
A multi-talented individual and a perfectionist by nature, Anam is an asset to S. A. Jamali & Co. She is a skilled draftsperson and an articulate lawyer.
Anam has remarkable credentials that have made her stand out throughout her academic career - not only did she ace all her subjects at school (scoring ten A’s), college (scoring 5 A’s) and university (achieving a high 2:1) but with her excellent social skills she was also elected as the vice president of her school and remained at prominent positions during her university tenure. She is also a receiver of the British Council Award for High Achievers.
Anam has pursued her Bar at Law from the City Law School in London with an “Outstanding” grade in Criminal Litigation, Alternative Dispute Resolution, Civil Litigation and Company Law.
Upon her return to Pakistan, she joined Kabraji & Talibuddin, a leading litigation and corporate law firm based in Karachi. Anam successfully represented various local and international clients on corporate and litigation matters. She simultaneously completed Masters in Professional Legal Skills from her alma mater in London.
Thereafter, she joined her family practice at S. A. Jamali & Co. and has since then been associated with the firm.
Anam is a dedicated homemaker, a mother of three and a part-time entrepreneur of home aesthetics. She has also been a Law lecturer at L’ecole School for Advance Studies for a period of 3 years. Currently, she also oversees the firm’s digital marketing.
She has worked on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters with a strong focus on litigation and dispute resolution. She has represented major domestic and international clients in corporate and commercial matters across sectors, most notably in the construction and engineering, banking and finance, oil and gas, energy and infrastructure.
Anam is also an associate at S. A. Jamali & Co.’s sister concern, S A J Legal Solicitors in London, where she is primarily involved in research and drafting, with a strong focus on immigration, public law and civil litigation.
Her diligence to the profession is evident by the fact that despite her motherhood responsibilities, Anam taught as a Law lecturer for undergraduate students for the external programme of the University of London based in Karachi, Pakistan. She brings a diverse and extensive understanding of various laws from her past work and teaching experience.
